We engineer them to primarily use factory mounting points for the given vehicle model, such as passenger grab handle mounts, seat belt anchor points, or trim screws. However, in select models or vehicle configurations, installation may require additional modifications.
How much weight can a suspended overhead shelf hold?
The shelf structure is engineered for carrying light to medium-weight gear, such as clothing, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, first aid kits, light camp equipment, or camping chairs. For safety while driving and proper center of gravity distribution, heavy gear and high-mass items—such as winches, jerry cans, or heavy tools—should be carried as low as possible, ideally on the cargo floor and properly secured against shifting.
Does an overhead shelf block rearview mirror visibility?
No. Shelves are designed using 3D cabin scans so that their edge sits above the bottom line of the rear window, keeping your rearview mirror field of view fully intact.
